Time Magazine has published “The Green Design 100” List and eight different children’s items have made the list.

Wishbone Bike – The Wishbone Bike is three bikes in one; it starts out as a pedal-less tricycle, it then converts to a two-wheel running bike, and finally it can be flipped to an even larger running bike. The first green aspect of this bike is that you are replacing three bikes with one; this cuts down on the manufacturing process. The bike also has the following eco-friendly features: 60% post-consumer recycled plastic wheel, the use of sustainable wood, and eco-friendly bonds and finishes.

Popupshop – Okay the Popupshop clothes are cute but the website’s code that forces my browser window to resize is annoying. The clothes are created keeping sustainability in mind and have a very limited availability.

Bholu – The products that make up the Bholu kids’ line all start with drawings from children aged three to seven that live in “underprivileged slum communities.”

notNeutral BBO2 – notNeutral is a design firm and the BBO2 is an all-weather table and chair that is made from 100% recycled post consumer HDPE (high density polyethylene).

Ywater – Ywater is organic water with added nutrients that comes in a unique and kid-appealing shape. There are four “flavors” available – brain, immune, muscle, and bone.

Kidsonroof Totem – The Kidsonroof Totem series puts Lego’s to shame. The sets consist of sturdy cardboard panels that are made of recycled paper and are biodegradable. The following Totem sets are available: Totem Mini, Totem Nature, Totem Tree, Totem Figurines, and Totem City. As an added bonus, the pieces of each set are interchangeable with the other sites.

Bambu – Forget the kids matching plastic bowl and plate sets, check out Bambu KIDS line of products instead. They are made from certified organic bamboo and use no bleaches or dyes.

Modern Play Shed – The Modern Play Shed really takes a playhouse to the next level. I know most parents have seen those $15,000 Victorian-replicas that are really a child’s playhouse. The Modern Play Sheds are available for a fraction of the price but look way cooler! The sheds can be ordered with denim insulation, cork floor tiles, and even a green roof.

If you’re interested in the other items that made Time’s list – head on over to The Green Design 100.
