Last month, I blogged about the Whole Foods Natural Allergy Relief Products podcast. The information in the podcast was perfect as we’re experiencing seasonal allergy flareups in the house. Today, Whole Foods has another podcast up – this time the topic is natural cosmetics. Although organic and
natural foods are becoming mainstream, natural cosmetics are just now starting to emerge. This emergence comes as consumers are becoming better educated about the harmful ingredients that are used in many cosmetic and personal care products. In listening to the podcast, I learned that the average consumer is exposed to 126 different ingredients in the products that they use on a daily basis. However, these products are regulated much differently than food products.
Head on over to the Whole Foods website to listen to the 5 (ish) minute podcast for yourself: Cosmetics: What to Look For, What to Avoid by Mara Fleishman. In addition to the podcast, the Whole Foods Guide to Natural Body Care is a great read, especially if you’re new to the natural personal care products world.
