As a mom of 7 and 5 year-olds, my baby slinging days are over. My son still climbed into the sling, off and on, until he was four years old. Shortly after he stopped, my two year-old daughter joined him. I still have most of my slings and smile everytime I see a momma, daddy,
grandparent, or whomever wearing their child. I’m an attachment parenting mom and babywearing is one of the easiest ways for parents to connect with their children as well as give their child a true sense of security.
The only downside of slinging, at least for me, is that I wanted new slings. Between baby slings and cloth diapers, I had a good sized collection of baby stuff for my kiddos. Although I’m no longer slinging, I still admire beautiful slings. I recently received an email with a new sling from Sausalito, California-based Serena & Lily – the Peacock Collection Market Sling.
The Peacock collection, with bold, vibrant colors perfect for any season, joins Serena & Lily’s well-known hand-embroidered Prauge and Catalina collections. The peacock has long been a symbol of fantastic beauty. The newest Peacock Collection Market Sling lives up to the name with vivid, multi-colored crewel embroidery and will be a summer must-have.
The Prague and Catalina Market Slings are a favorite must-have amongst fashionable new moms, dads and celebrities including Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, Camilla Alves and Naomi Watts. Like the Prague and Catalina Market Slings, the Peacock Collection is made from one seamless piece of fabric without buckles, belts or straps. The sling is snug, sleek and easy to wear for any new mom, and features a 100% organic cotton lining.
Yes, this sling is beautiful! Babywearing, once an alternative or ‘crunchy parenting’ practice is now much more mainstream. Babies everywhere can benefit from this new trend and it warms my heart.
