Energy Kids is a project by the Energy Information Administration (EIA). The Energy Kids website is designed to engage children in fun activities that will help them learn about energy. The site is broken down into several sections: What Is Energy?, Energy Sources, Using & Saving Energy, History of Energy, Games & Activities, a Glossary, and a section for Teachers (or parents).

The renewable energy section provides children with information on biomass, hydropower, geothermal, wind, and solar energy options. My son was particularly fond of the puzzles section – it has Sudoku, a slider puzzle, crosswords, and word searches.

Although the Energy Kids website isn’t limited to clean energy technologies, it is still a fun tool for you as parents to use with your children.

I’m so happy that this program exists for children to learn about energy use and conservation. I think many adults would benefit from learning about saving/conserving energy, too. Maybe then we’d all start being more responsible……..just a hope on my part. Thank you for sharing this site.
