On January 13, 2009 I launched Raising Them Green, a site dedicated to helping parents raise eco-conscious children. My philosophy is that working with our children now and helping them focus on the environmental
impacts of their decisions will help make this process more innate and natural as they mature into adults. What I have to think about now will come naturally to my children.
I remember fastidiously working to get content on my site last year at this time but it feels like it was just yesterday. I’d like to thank you all for supporting me by subscribing to my blog, commenting on my articles, and submitting my posts to the various social networking sites. May we have another prosperous year and continue to see successes on our going green journey.
Here’s a quick tour of some of my posts over the last year:
Check Out the Organic Bouquet for Valentine’s Day – Since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, I figured I’d include this post in my Raising Them Green 1st Birthday blog tour.
Raising Them Green Recommends California Baby – Switching to California Baby products was the first “green” thing I did as a parent. Nearly nine years later I still have my shelves filled with California Baby products.
Alternatives to Air Fresheners – Skip the nasty aerosols and try one of these healthier alternatives.
What’s in Your Household Cleaner? – Green cleaning was the second step I took on my go green journey.
Alexander’s Green Tips – View all of Alexander’s Green Tips.
Waste Free School Lunches – With two kids in an all-day school program this year, my new green focus was on providing waste-free school lunches. Check out how our first week went.
The H1N1 Virus, Asthma, and a Severe Case of Croup – Fall 2009 was a time of resurgence of the H1N1 virus and it visited our house.
Al Gore to Our Children – “We will NOT let you down!” – I attended Greenbuild 2009 and was absolutely inspired by Al Gore’s keynote address.
Again, thank you all for your support over the last year!
